Liam Payne officially announced his first single is coming May 19.

One Direction to perform at 2015 American Music Awards

One Direction has been added to the lineup for the 2015 American Music Awards.

The superstar pop group will perform their new song “Perfect” at the AMAs, which take place Nov. 22 at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater.

The fourpiece — Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson — should be familiar with format of the AMAs. The group (then a five piece) won three trophies last year’s ceremony — artist of the year; favorite duo or group, pop/rock; and favorite album, pop/rock. And they’ve won a further two trophies from previous editions. This time, the boy band is nominated in two categories, including artist of the year.

“Perfect” is from 1D’s forthcoming fifth studio album Made In The A.M. which is scheduled to drop on Nov. 13. The arrival of “Perfect” earlier this month prompted 1.6 million Twitter mentions in a single week.

ABC will air the AMAs, which Jennifer Lopez hosts for the first time. The Latin pop icon will also perform on the night, along with a confirmed batch of talent which include Aussie pop-punk outfit 5 Seconds of Summer, pop star Selena Gomez and celebrated country artist Carrie Underwood.

Also, the AMAs and Twitter are launching custom Twitter emojis for all performers. Each performer will have featured Twitter emojis to celebrate their appearances as they’re announced. To activate the emojis, tweet #AMAs1D.
